Our Instructors are California State Park Ocean Lifeguards!

Our instructors are highly trained California State Park Ocean Lifeguards. Every instructor is required to have at least two seasons of experience as a Seasonal Lifeguard and many them have over 10 years of experience. They are all employed by California State Parks and are part of HSBLA, Huntington State Beach Lifeguard Association.

All of our instructors have been hand picked because of their intimate knowledge of the ocean, excellent lifeguarding skills, and a great ability to interact with youths. The ratio of instructor to students is 20:1.

Aquatic safety at Huntington State Beach is provided by the California State Parks Lifeguard Service. Lifeguards patrol the beach year-round while lifeguard towers are staffed roughly Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
