Huntington State Beach Junior Lifeguard Association

The Need

Since 1973 the Huntington State Beach Junior Lifeguard program has served over 1,000 children each year providing critical ocean safety training with a focus on teamwork, leadership, education, and physical fitness – all from portable containers with no running water, permanent shade offerings, or youth restrooms. It is time to provide them with a safe, permanent structure.

We Can Build It

The HSBJLA is partnering with the CA Department of Parks & Recreation to raise funds to build a permanent State Junior Lifeguard training facility on the boardwalk of Huntington State Beach. The building will provide a safe space for our children to learn important aspects of beach safety and first aid skills in an up-to-date, indoor, controlled environment. It will also provide the opportunity to diversify and expand the off-season programming and create valuable educational opportunities to serve the members of the local and surrounding communities.

You Can Help Today
