FOUR 2 week sessions are available for enrollment per season.

Program hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm.

The Bolsa Chica State Beach program is a sister program of the Huntington State Beach Junior Guard program. The Bolsa Chica program will be operated in a manner consistent with that of the HBSJGs. All the Bolsa Chica instructors are experienced California State Beach Ocean Lifeguards with at least two years of experience and training. Click here for more information about our instructors.

The aim of our program is to provide a safe place where participants can be instructed in a variety of skills pertaining to the lifeguard profession and the aquatic environment. Instructors will introduce participants to basic CPR skills, basic First Aid, basic rescue techniques, and lifeguarding procedures. We also include an interpretive component provides information about the ocean habitats and local ecosystems including field trips.

The Huntington State Beach Junior Lifeguard Association (HSBJLA) purpose is to support the Junior Lifeguard programs at both Huntington State Beach and Bolsa Chica State Beach. The HSBJLA operates under the Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and offers annual $20 membership dues for Junior Lifeguards and seeks donations from the community and business.
